Chapter 6

Gin drops a bombshell

After I'd checked in the Park Oasis, a hotel the taxi driver recommended I tried ringing my airline to ask if I could extend my ticket but the office was already closed. I wasn't really intending to fly home early as my real plan was to spend more time with Gin.

It was just past 6 o'clock so went down to grab a bite to eat in the noodle bar downstairs. Gin had messaged me asking what happened as Kishi must have told her parents I'd checked out. I told her we'd had an argument and I'd had enough and asked if she wanted to come stay with me? The baby was being looked after by her older sister Josie and apparently would stay with her until Gin was in a position to take over. Then I had an idea and told her I needed to talk to her as I was thinking of going to Hong Kong for a few weeks.

She immediately rang back in a panic saying that she'd come over immediately and asked why? I told her I just needed to get away from Kishi and Taiwan but needed to discuss it with her. I texted her the hotel address and said to get a taxi and I'd pay the fare.

She turned up twenty minutes later and called me saying she was outside, so went out and paid the driver. The hotel was really impressive compared to the last one and we headed up to my room on the 5th floor. She'd changed into her jeans again but still looked amazing, her long dark hair was tied back and she was acting all concerned.

"Why are you leaving Taiwan...?" She asked as soon as we were in the room.

"Because I believe your parents had arranged for Kishi to marry that old Korean guy and I don't want anything to do with them anymore. I know they are your parents but all this bullshit about money and arranged marriages is totally against everything I believe and it's wrong."
